Index Petrolube Africa as the flagship company was established in December 3, 1998 as an independent petroleum product marketing company and is licensed by registration with the Department of Petroleum Resources and the NNPC to carry out its operations. Setting off as a procurement, marketing and distribution company, Index has progressively expanded and given birth to diversified subsidiaries in the oil and gas sector.

In 2001, Index commenced the establishment and operations of retail outlets (filling stations) and a haulage system for the sales and distribution of the petroleum products. Currently, the company has sixteen (16) Filling stations across the country.

Index recently upgraded its 30, 000 MT storage facility to a 45,000MT capacity at its storage depot/terminal at the Kirikiri Waterfront Apapa, Lagos.
